Hello there my fair Stickpagers. It is I the illustrious Socks who has brought the greatest thread to Stickpage. The task is said in the title. What is your favorite line from a book/novel you've read?
[Please note I'm pretty sure this will die]
My quote comes from the book "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell".
It is in Chapter 4 page 45. (I like being indepth)
"...The explosives were so powerful that they obliterated the lorry and it's troupe of suicide "actors", eight vehicles on Theatre Avenue, and caused a section of Waterloo Bridge to collapse. Fourteen motocars fell off the bridge causing a massive, burning pileup. The side of the theater facing the blast was signed and several windows were broken. Sixty two people were killed and nearly a hundred and fity were injured.
Constable Perkins never had to supervise traffic at the National Theatre again."
Best line from a book.

World War Z:
We've been paid to protect rich people from zombies, not against other not-so-rich people who just wanted a safe place to hide. You could hear them shouting as they charged in through the front door. Not grab the booze" or "rape the bitches"; it was "put out that fire!" and "get the women and kids upstairs!"

That was great too.
Oh, I also love this one. It's from the end of a famous Richard Matheson book.

What has 'theology' ever said that is of the smallest use to anybody? When has 'theology' ever said anything that is demonstrably true and is not obvious? What makes you think that 'theology' is a subject at all?

Quote from Captain AmericaDoesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: The requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds of consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tells you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the world-- No, you move.
