yep, i'm making a sort of old-school battle thing. the game? Quake 3 Arena. ok, i know. its the demo. sorry. go pirate it ya thieves. ok, basically, on the demo, there are 3 maps for multiplayer. i'll set-up a server on the set date, and we'll blow each other to pieces. BOOM!
Q/A:
Where may I download this masterpiece of gaming?
You can get the Quake 3 demo here: http://www.steampowered.com/v/index.php?area=game&AppId=9080&cc=US
(Note: You'll need Steam.)
My hard-drive is pretty full, I don't think I can play...
Actually, you probably can. It's only a measely file size of 50 KB.
My comp is the suckiest of the suck, i doubt it could handle it.
wrong. it most likely can. heres the requirements:
3-D Hardware Accelerator with full OpenGL® support, Pentium® 233 Mhz MMX®processor with 8 MB Video Card or Pentium II 266 Mhz processor with 4 MB Video Card, or AMD® 350 Mhz K6®-2 processor with 4 MB Video Card, 64 MB RAM, a 100% Windows® 2000/XP/Vista compatible computer system (including compatible 32-bit drivers for video card, sound card and input devices), 25 MB of uncompressed hard disk space for game files (Minimum Install), plus 45 MB for the Windows swap file, 100% DirectX 3.0 or higher compatible sound card, 100% Microsoft-compatible mouse and driver, joystick (optional)
Why Quake 3?
well... because it can probably run on anyones computer with no lag. and, because its one of the few game demos with multiplayer.
I'm gonna be a jerk and question your inability to come up with something better.
then leave the damn thread, shithead.
When is the tournament?
there is no set date, yet.
well then, there ya go.
there might be other places to download the demo, but, if you find one, you must be sure its the same demo.
