I don't use Photoshop, and I don't use GIMP. I use Corel Photo-Paint. Since most of you probably use Photoshop, you won't be able to give too much CC, but you can give me comments in general :D
Looks pretty good.Great detail on the background but the text needs to be more "firm". The drop shadows and shading is pretty good but maybe add a lighting effect "If your program is able to do that" so that the energy, link is creating is shining on his face.
His hat shoultn't just fade away, it looks wierd. Also, see how the light on the render is coming from the right side? You put in some shadows and dark spots on the right side, which makes it look odd.
