So basically..

Requirement form for Death Penalty:
Have you killed a person? yes/no
How many? 5+/10+/20+
Killed their family? yes/no
Raped them? yes/no
Tortured them? yes/no

Sure these things are easy to say but still, regardless of what the person did, no one should have the right to KILL them.

Yes, I think the accused should fill out a form and then a computer should generate the sentence.
I think every case should be judged individually, there is many factors to take into account; no kill is the same as any other. For example an adult killing five children for no reason beyond personal pleasure should probably be sentenced to death, while a sixteen years old boy killing his family of six after being tortured both physically and psychologically his own life probably shouldn't, but should instead be given help.

Why should we have the right to strip them of their freedom and sentence them to life in a small, empty room for countless years, but not kill them? Isn't that just as bad, or worse?

so if some deranged psychopath raped and killed your family, ripped them to shreds with a chainsaw, you would still be defending his life?

Maybe not, but I wouldn't be the one killing him. And It doesn't mean I would think it's right to do so. :>

Yeah, that's right I'm sorry bro, my bad. They should totally kill everyone's families and rape them before making decisions. I mean, you wouldn't want anyone rational to make them would you?

An eye for and eye is an outdated principle.

And alive, maybe that IS worse. And maybe thats the point. A suicidal unbalanced person could well kill as a last rampage if he knew his fate would be death like he wanted.
