In my chemistry class, the teacher does the experiments (because most people are idiotic and would probably cause accidents similar to the one related by you). The only student that did experiments was me, when I was practicing for the Olympics. I only spilled a drop of low concentration acid once, by accident.

When we realized that the hydrochloric acid was like .0000001 molar, we spent all of chemistry burning our fingerprints off.

I hate Chemistry and Physics. Always had weird grades, from the lowest to the top ...

Start carrying a gas mask and mix some deadly chemicals on purpose so everyone gets poisoned but you.

Unfortunately, there are people like that in my class, also. we were doing an experiment involving a very powerful base, and someone thought it would be fun to screw around. almost killed me. in later labs, i decided not to work with them.

No I'm not in college. And no I'm not in a shitty school. We don't use high molar substances either, but anything can be dangerous. And when something is still dangerous at .1 M, shit is bound to happen in my class.
