It's basically telling the old story of how dogs are a man's best friend. As David showed here, he was loyal to his master and sacrificed himself so that his owner could live. Quite charming acctually.

The chopping up part at the end disturbed me.

That was stupid and pointless.

Sometimes things don't actually have a message, sometimes creators are just freaks.

The reason some movies are interesting is because they look like they have a message even if they don't. Even if not, the creators being freaks can be just as fun like this.
