No surprise.

Formula to have a movie on the Sci-Fi Channel:

1. Pick either an animal or a mythical creature. Go to #2.

2. If you picked an animal, go to #3. If you picked mythical creature, go to #4.

3. Make your animal giant. Go to #4.

4. Pick a setting related to your animal or creature, such as a labyrinth for a Minotaur or a farm for a giant cow. Go to #5.

5. Make your set as far from looking like this set as possible while still being recognizable as the intended setting. For example, if your movie takes place in a prison, make sure the only thing that makes it look like a prison is that the windows are barred. Go to #6.

6. Select a specific group of people getting attacked, such as teenagers, criminals, or soldiers. Go to #7.

7. Select a person who will survive, preferably the only character with a brain or conscience. Go to #8.

8. Select a reason for the people to be at the place with the creature. Go to #9.

9. Select a cause for the giant/mythical creature. If it is a giant creature, make it either the result of a science experiment or make it the guardian of some sacred place. If it is a mythical creature, make it just be there with no good explanation. Go to #10.

10. Fill your movie with corny jokes, bad cinematography, shitty special effects, and one-dimensional, archetypical characters played by horrid actors.

Those 10 steps will get you a guaranteed showing on the Sci-Fi Channel!
