Well I've been wanting to start skateboarding and I wanted to know what's a good skateboard to start with. Also I know a guy that'll help me but any advice would be apreaciated.

im probably the only one that can help you alot when it comes to skateboards.

if youre a beginner and want a pretty good skateboard, get a minilogo deck, venture trucks, ricta or darkstar wheels and rush abec 7's. 8's or Bones reds bearings.


if you're actually pretty good for a board and looking for a strong one that will last a while, get a baker, enjoi, almost, deck. Royal, Venture, or Krux trucks, Ricta wheels and bones swiss or bones reds bearings.

i'm saying all this from my mind, but if i was actually at a skateboarding shop website i could help you alot more with what kind of things to get.

I personally think a Darkstar Armorlight deck will last you ages. But it's all about your personal opinion.

That's what i would pick for a first setup. But after you get better, and start skating a lot more, until the point where you break your board, your best bet is getting shop decks or blank boards unless you can have money fly out of your ass to buy a pro board all the time.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I just want to have at least one talent so I thought I'd have some fun with skating.

okay well if you're a begginer, then you defiantly DON'T want to get abec 7's because those are a bit to hard for people to start riding.

if you want a board with a lot of pop i would suggest getting a board with a maple wood bottom ply and get a board with around 9-11 plies. some good ones that fit into that category are mystery, creature, and darkstar.

if you want a board for vert, which is ramps, then get a board with sturdy wood and around 6-9 plies so you can cruise better. some good boards are birdhouse, enjoi, and toy machine.

for the trucks i would suggest getting something light so you can learn tricks faster. i would get the new thunder - lights.

as for the wheels, it really and honestly doesn't matter, a wheel will spin the same as long is it doenst have bearings. so for the wheel choose any wheel you want or your favorite company as long it isnt a wheel you get at some grocery store.

ok time for the bearings. bearings are split up into 3 categories and you only need to know 1. the abec class, abec is the speed. if i were you i would not get anything higher than abec 3's otherwise it will be hard to ride for a begginer.

sheezy, not at all dude. i started on abec 7's and they were pretty easy to ride on for me. and wheels do kind of matter. get rictas because those last the longest. they dont start waring out for a long time. i have rictas and im put those in some tough shit
