I'd say they classify under progressive hard rock.

Grunge music is good. Dressing like a Grunger makes you a faggot.

Counting Crows is NOT grunge. However I enjoy them, along with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Bush and the Foo Fighters.

Soundgarden is a cool band
