Congratz to you guys and good luck. I also want to pass on a big thank you to everyone who sent me there entry's. I'd like to point out that we didn't choose the eight animators on animating skill alone. I asked for 2 of your newer/best animations. A lot of great animators entered but some of there animations were not good demos of there skill as the seven who were chosen. The eight that were chosen gave great demos of there skill of animating not only stick figures but backgrounds and presentation. You never know when a contest or collab like this will come around and it's good to develop your portfolio. I'd like to give an honorable mention to Ln3uq, SSJBryando, Apples and Kitsune.
The prize structure for this contest is as follows:
- All eight animators will receive $100 dollars U.S. at the end of the contest.
- First place prize is $300 dollars U.S. (on top of the $100).
- Second place/runner up prize is $150 dollars U.S. (on top of the $100).
Theme for this contest is as follows:
The theme is "Movie Parody". Bellow is a list of movies that each animator will be able to choose from to do there animation on. There can be no duplicates so first come first serve rules apply. Once a animator chooses there movie theme then that theme is off limits to the rest.
- Star Wars - Spitzer
- LOTR
- Terminator
- Matrix - SSOutPhase
- Indiana Jones - Miccool
- Mission Impossible
- Conan the Barbarian
- Jumper - Jaws
- Gladiator
- Back to the Future
- talladega nights
- Batman
- Spiderman - Stone
- Superman
- X-Men - Bubbleman
- 300 - T-Man
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- GhostBusters
- The Bourne Trilogy
- The Mummy Trilogy
Note: Pick a theme you believe is doable within the confines of your animating skill and not just because it's cool. You will have a limited time to work on this so pick something that you can sum up quickly or redo (in your own way) a famous scene.
Contest Rules are as follows:
- No foul language, nudity or adult themes.
- Try to keep the file size to around 4 megs, lower the sound quality as too many people make the mistake of using perfect sound at the risk of large file sizes.
- Use a preloader and have a start button or menu screen. Nobody likes animations that just start. They want to be able to push start.
- Please include a stickpage.com intro animation that links to stickpage.com in a new window.
- Please include a persistent link to stickpage.com in the top corner that links to stickpage.com in a new window.
- Make sure to give yourself proper credit but please, no links, logos or names of any other sites other then Stickpage.com.
- The structure of the animation should be stick figure based. Now if you feel you need to draw a character like "Yoda" for cinematic appeal then do so as long as that character is in a supporting role and not the main character. This rule applys to props as well.
- You have 4 weeks to complete this animation. April 11th is the due date.
Good luck...
