Has anybody heard of this? DMT is one of the most powerful, if not THE most powerful hallucinogen known to man. My question is,
Should DMT be illegal?
It is completely natural. It is created and active in most plants in the world, and is active in your brain. DMT is what causes your dreams. DMT is released into your mind naturally 2 times. When you sleep, and right before you die. I have personally never taken it. i probably will eventualy but i dont know. I dont think it should be illegal, but im not entirely sure it should be sold in stores. I just dont think that you should go to jail for having/using it.
check out these links for info on it

Of course we've heard of it.
And of course it doesn't matter if it's natural; if the government can't make a profit off of it by distributing and selling it, then they must oulaw it.
The best course of action for drugs, legal and illegal, is to educate everyone about their effects, dangers, etc. to the fullest extent, and then give them the choice to use them if they want-legalize everything for purchase just like beer, or candy, or whatnot. This way we'd have less drug-related crime, and the economy would be stimulated a LOT more.

What Slayer said.

i think it should be decriminalized. i think that if someone wants to use it in the privacy of they're own home, it should be ok. If they're not hurting anybody why should it matter?
That's true, but the education people are getting isnt true. HS and MS health class is lie after lie about drugs and what they do to you. I think people should be educated too. But what they're getting is a bunch of crap.

Basically what I was going to say. :/ Although I do think that all drugs should be made legal, no government should decide what I can put into my body.

It wouldn't, but the government can't control whether or not you decide to hurt someone/yourself under the influence of certain drugs. What they can control, however, is whether or not to arrest you for possession of them to prevent it from happening.
Decriminalizing all drugs would be idiotic. It's not even a good theory on paper, and it definitely wouldn't work in practice. Marijuana is one thing, but the more extreme drugs are way too dangerous to just let anyone take.
As far as DMT is concerned, I don't know anything about it, but on the topic of making any and all drugs legal, I can't even imagine how someone would think that's a good idea.

It's because they're thinking.
"HUUUUUUUUURRRRRR, ITS ONLY AN IMMENSELY POWERFUL DRUG I SHOULD BE ABLE TO TAKE IT WITHOUT CAUSE OR CONSEQUENCE. ITS MY RIGHT DO EAT/SMOKE/INJECT WHAT I WANT. OTHER WISE THE GOVERNMENT IS TAKING AWAY MY RIGHTS. HUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRR"
No, it's not your ****ing right. Things are illegal for a reason.

I dont think cocain, heroin, crack, and all that should be legal. i think that weed, LSD,MDMA and DMT should be. But wither way, this isnt about all drugs, the topic is just DMT. and i still stand by it should be decriminalized.
Dec 6, 2008 4:05 PM #308573
And why should it be decriminalized?
Dec 6, 2008 4:06 PM #308576
Well if thats the case then lets illegalize alcohol, because it kills 150,000 people each year, and then after that lets go for tobacco which kills 390,000 per year, then lets take all prescription drugs of the table 783936 a year is way too many deaths a year don't you think? I'm too tired to go into more depth so eh.

because its not hurting anyone. It MIGHT do some damage to the user (im not really sure) but other than that, nothing. Your basically asleep wen you use it, so hurting someone else really isn't possible. unless you do it while driving a car..which would just be the users fault, not the drug itself.

It's because people abuse alcohol. If you legalize any drug it will become more common and easier to get, thus incidents as a result go up.
