Im a guitar player in a music class. I got asked to join a band playing mixed music and they will get the replocal set in februari. But their music style isnt my thing(Because they aren't thinking off tryin to play metal stuff((Wich even my friend who is bassist in the band think is good))) But I heared that one off my friend is going to start playing drums, and if I dun like that mix band and I quit we can form our own band with my bassist friend.
What should I choose?
A mix band with no metal and only punk and country
Or a band with friends with only Metal.
Both choices are mean D: and I dun kno what to pick
Band choice

Neither. Alternative band, with funk sounds.

Both styles are overused.
Invent a new style.
Methral or something like that.

just play in both. or neither, since they'll both probably suck.

dont bother trying to stick to a genre. get together and see what you all like playing.

He's right, believe me. That punk band is going to collapse because they play too many different genres, will fight over what to do and because they ask people like you to play.
Your own band is going to collapse because, if not for the very statement "going to start playing drums", you all have no idea how it would work.
Either that, or yeah, they'll both suck.

There's a difference between Concert Holders and Garage Band.
Garage band-you play what you want, preferentially one style in particular
Concert Holders-You play in bars and you better know how to play everything
But as I said, Punk and Metal are overused by many shitty bands.
Rock must go on.

sorry, is this still the internet? I was under the assumption that truth overruled kindness here, since kissing ass isn't going to help anyone when there's no humanity in the discussion.
I'm being honest. Both of your bands will suck, and not go anywhere. You might have fun but by the end of it, you'd be better off starting a bowling team or something.
