So is there any significance to stick figures with long arms? ex. Cicada's. Like does it help in overall animation of it or what?

I'm not sure what you mean, but

There are no "rules" when it comes to animation. You can do whatever the hell you want, and the only way people will judge it is whether it is entertaining or not.

I guess it just makes them somewhat more recognizable.
