So I haven't been posting any new music lately, and whether or not you've noticed, this is why:

For the last month and a half I've been working on a concept album called "The Sun", which will more or less be an implied theme. It opens and closes with a sunrise/sunset ambient type song, but everything else is going to lean towards progressive trance, a genre that I haven't successfully made much music in. The music is much more complex and varied than virtually all of my previous work, however I haven't abandoned my old style completely.

This album, at first, was only going to be something I'd make, post here and on other forums I go to, etc, and that'd be it. However, yesterday I got confirmation from the Massachusetts college-based radio station that plays my music every Tuesday during their Electronica show, and they agreed to sell my album through their website, and also advertise it during their shows. The album will be cheap, probably 5 bucks at the most, but I'm really not expecting to make much off of it.

The real thrill comes this summer. I haven't confirmed with them yet, but the college flies their musicians to the college, free of charge, to host a DJ set of their music at the college's dance club. I'll probably be doing that sometime during the summer, playing this album and (possibly) selling physical copies of it at the show.

I haven't shown anyone else this music yet, but here's a ~2 minute, lower quality sample of what work I have done, which amounts to about 17 minutes so far.

O___O

I planned the exact same thing about the sun with a song of it rising and a song of it setting. Holy shit. Blargh, now you're faster. -_-

I'm looking forward to hearing it, though. The sample sounds pretty nice, but work on the mastering a little, the higher frequencies overpower the low ones. Might just be the quality.

haha, sorry schall

And the sample is 96 kbps. The copies I have on my computer right now are twice that, 192 kbps, and the mastering sounds fine on those.

@zwolfsburg;No, it's DJ Prospect. lol

I assume that between those breaks were different songs. I can't really say much of them, since I only heard a little bit of each song. But sounds great imo. I think even I would listen t this kind of music.

Otherwise, congratulations on your album and I hope it will be accepted well.

There's about 2 or 3 samples per song.. I only have 4 songs done so far. I had 5, but I used the background music to Crayon Physics as a sample, and since I now plan on actually selling it, I don't want copyright issues. The album won't be done for another 2 months, I'm expecting, seeing as those 4 songs took me a month and a half to make. I've been pretty busy lately, though, so I haven't had all that much time to work on them.

If you do this DJ thing you'll have to change your location back to 'frosted butts'.
