To find my age, you must find the value of "y." To do so, you must first find the value of "x." (by the way, this actually works and gives you my real age, I solved it).

(Round all numbers to the nearest tenth)

f(x)= 2.1x-4; x+1= f²+18

y+4x= 2.3+15x

y-52.3= muttonhead's age

(Once you get the answer, don't tell anyone, they have to figure it out themselves. The age in my profile is not accurate).

Why the hell does it say f(x)? The paranthesis just indicates that you have to solve the sum inside of the parenthesis.
Since there's just 'x', you don't use the paranthesis.
so it should be: fx = 2.1x-4.

Unless you mean that you take f from x and that equals 2.1x-4.
Please explain.

f(x) means "f of x." Just sub f for 2.1x-4

Yea, I didn't know if you made equation wrong or if you meant that.
I'm too lazy to figure it out now, I might do it tomorrow.

Clearly you haven't taken Algebra II yet. f(x) is basically a fancy way to just say y. So the equation is just y=2.1x-4. Kinda.

f(x) means a function of x. That's what I learned in algebra 2. :D
