FINALLY a new indie zombie movie worth watching!
I DL'd this when I was looking for a 28 Days Later torrent (I got a pack of 7 zombie movies, including this) and went ahead and watched it. I was suprised about how much I loved it.
It's prom night, and a few teenagers are without dates. When going about their nights, wishing they were at the prom, the Sci-Fi club accidentally wakes an army of the undead, hungry for brains. What ensues is a satisfyingly gory and humorous battle to stop the zombies from getting to the school and turning everyone into zombies.
The acting, gore, humor, and direction all took me by suprise, making me feel like the film was the REAL "Return of the Living Dead Part 2", but that they got switched at birth or something. I laughed out loud at this one, and although it was a bit inconsistant (Brain eating zombies+the head rule? Doesn't that mean that the zombies shouldn't be able to spread? Even more, the zombies CALL for brains, but in practice only eat flesh.) and corny (The power of music, man!) it makes me happy to have watched it.
A few scenes really made me impressed. One was when the group of teens is driving a car through the cemetary, racing away from the oddly quick horde of zombies (They're slow sometimes, fast other times. Whatever.) and we are seeing through the car's passenger windshield, through the car, to the other side, and as they race through the cemetary, more zombies leap up out of the ground to seamlessly run alongside the car. This is an extremely effective shot, making me think this movie had a higher budget than they say it did.
Later in the film, a zombie is chopped in half, and its legs keep walking around. This has been done before, but usually in higher-budget or older films.
Overall, I give this 8 making-out-zombies out of 10.

I watched about 5 minutes of it and got so bored that I deleted it.

That's because you judge movies on the first 5 minutes.

That and the fact that it looked like a crappy B movie and the acting sucked huge dick, but whatever.

Except that the only character shown in the first 5 minutes is a minor character, who, I will agree, was badly acted.

That reflects on the quality of the movie for me, I want to be drawn in at the beginning, not bored out of my mind. Not to mention that I skipped throughout the movie looking to see if there might be any good, and everything I saw was shit.

Imagine if I did the same thing for The Godfather?
The first 5 minutes are boring as hell, and if I were to skip to random parts, I'd see lots of talking and not much more.
