I am astounded at the amount of misinformation and utter bullshit that people are spewing in the name of the environment. People are going crazy over recycling, "reducing their carbon footprint", and global warming.

Discuss.

Well, obviously some people will go to extreme and ridiculous solutions when faced with such a problem, but it is also obvious that if we **** up the environment too bad, a lot of us would be ****ed up as well. It's very important that we try and do something with that, we just need the right information so that we know what we can do that actually helps.

If we lie to people about doing something good and people react by doing the good deed that makes it a bad thing? I mean I thought doing good for the future was enough cause to keep your mouth shut and recycle.

Humans have been, from all extinguished creatures on the planet since the dinosaurs Eras, the ones who have been the least(?) time on the planet.

What I mean is. Humans are getting beyond their boundaries, we are evolving fast and across the way we are the ones that have been polluting the most.

I think that every little effort will not save the Human from it's current position, but only slow down the inevitable.
To be honest I hope we don't last more than a millennium. We are a terrible race and changing to other planets isn't going to help, it's just going to restart it all.

Anyway, your recycling is just one step. You have to trust the government to lead the garbage to the right place.

Recycling is good for the enviroment but...

It does cost people alot of money.

China is the most polluted place in the world and they dont care about pollution and they dont do recycling but they became rich and its easyer to just to keep on making things and throwing them away instead of making something out of another thing.

I agree that we should recycle because its the right thing even if costs us all our money.

Actually, the Chinese government as well as many chinese business men are doing a lot. It is just that the government have this idea that they won't try and do something unless they see the west doing something, and to be brutally honest, the west isn't doing shit. Sure, we have agreements such as the Kyoto protocol, which says that all the countries involved should decrease their production of greenhouse gasses by 8 % by 2012, and on paper many of the countries are successful in doing so, but this is how it works: The rich badass nations pay of smaller, poorer nations to decrease their production, so the rich nations won't have to. A famous analogy of this is a husband paying another husband not to cheat on his wife, so that it is okay for the first husband to do it. When the chinese government see that the same nations that are pestering them to decrease their production and save the environment are doing bullshit like this, they simply say "**** you".

The main reason China is so very polluted, is because the people in urban areas are burning a shitload of coal to keep warm. This is illegal, but they don't have any other choice, as the only other option is freezing to death, which isn't very cool.

The generation before us gave this shit to us, like hell I'm going to go out of my way to do my best. I'll do normal with it, but I won't be all like

The move to alternative energy is good for the US and the World for other reasons than the environment. And if it is motivated by people who want to save the environment, then so be it. I can't comment on recycling, as I haven't watched the vid.
