Ok, this is not a when or if debate, its a how debate. Assuming there WILL be an apocolypse, and regardless of when it will occur, what is the most likely source of it?

Yellow Stone?
LHC?
Meteor?
Nuclear?
Viral?
Global Warming?


I think the most likely death for mankind would be a Nuclear or Viral Apocolypse. Mankind has proven itself in being the worst threat against itself with wars, accidental deaths caused by man made items (ex: car crash). Overall as a species we are lack common sense. Animals know when to fight and when not to fight. If a lower wolf challenges the pack leader, and wins, he becomes the new pack leader, the wolves won't over throw him and merely accept it. Where as if lets say smaller country invades a greater country and overthrows its ruler and takes control, the UN or the people of that greater country would step in and start a war. All in all, we have thousands of nukes on the planet, and millions of people who hate at least one country, how long will it take for one of those millions of people who hate a country end up getting a nuke in their hands and have the opportunity to fire it and start a nuclear war.

Even if a nuclear war begins and you don't live in a big city, and if you live in a secluded area, you'd still most likely die. When a Nuke goes off it starts fires for miles around ground zero, those fires create smoke which if a nuclear war occurs, would black out sun and create a nuclear winter for at least 2 years, which would cause our crops to die off completely causing people to starve, starvation is a proven accelerant of rebellion. This would cause more violence and possibly restart the entire process.

This same cycle could be done similarly by bioweapons with a greater and quicker death toll before a cure could be found. Imagine, if something as deadly like Ebola got into an airport, or was launched as a weapon at New York City, or Tokyo. We couldn't quarantine it fast enough.

I think we'll die from either over-population, or nuclear war.
Over-population because think of how many people are in the world, compared to the size of the world. Families can vary between 2-15 people in a household. If an extremely deadly and contagious disease, got out, it would spread, incredibly fast, and most likely, it will be man-made.

I fear that it will probably be viral. Nuclear war would be devastating, but I don't think it would completely destory humanity the way an extremely contagious disease would.

All the huge plagues of the past have killed off most of the population of their respective areas. Now that the world is so interconnected and diseases can travel much farther, I think humanity would lose big time.

Everyone believes that the world will end on December 23, 2012. This prediction is based upon the Mayan calendar.

However, the reason that the Mayan calendar ends on that date is because their number system could not surpass that date. Mathematically, their number system had an end.

well, according to my friend, (who happens to be muslimm and is on his so called "Jihad") thats when the muslim calendar ends too. but 2012 is still shit.

46 + 20 (off 2012) = 66.
