Can anyone point me to a guide on how to make a database with as2 or as3? Similar to a high scores one or something, only with other info. I need to make it so that they can buy space in it to store a name, etc.

Im sure what you do is use actionscript to register variables with a php database or something similar, I don't touch stuff like that, I usualy leave that to the guy who owns/pays for the server I use.
