Warning this thread contains a sort of graphic image of animal mutilation.

So I was visiting some relatives in Boone, North Carolina right? It's a really sweet place, with the wilderness and all. But anyway, they own a cabin, and that's where we were staying at for the weekend.

So me and my cousin, we decided to just go scouting around the woods, to see if we find anything cool. We smoke a few bowls, just to make the trip a little more fun, and headed out to the woods.

Were walking on unmarked trails and what not, and after about 30 minutes of hiking, my cousin yells out to me.

I run over to where he is, and I'm scared shitless at what I see.

Here's the image..

So I know it's a White Tail Deer, but what in the fuck happened to it?

I also found it weird there was no evidence that it was dragged by some animal, such as a bear.

But yeah, I don't know how to explain this.

It was probably just a wolf. Look at all the little chaotic feetprints around it. Wolves don't usually drag the whole carcass back home as far as I can remember

No paw prints .

And wolves are not common in this area.

No paw prints? Then what are the small holes in the snow? We're you both walking on stilts?

Probably our walking sticks. I really saw nothing at all that resembled paw prints, or any kind of prints for that matter.

I can clearly see defined paw prints, and the fact that wolves aren't common in your area doesn't mean they won't show up every once in a while

Fuuuuuccck I noticed none while near it.

But do wolves usually just shred an animal like that?

And they usually hunt in packs. I'm pretty sure 4-8 wolves would leave more prints in the snow, and a lot less meat on the deer.

There is an obvious paw print right above where you wrote Tail Deer.

Even if it wasn't wolves, I'm pretty sure there are some other types of carnivorous animals around there like a bear or something.
