I have the black slim ps2

Everytime I start my ps2,my ps2 won't read the disc.
Sometimes when I go to the browser,it says reading disc then it says this disc cannot be read.
Is my ps2 dead or I need to get fixed?

If it's dead at least I still have my 360.

Wow a bunch of people have this problem.
I'll try using a q-tip to clean the lens.
If it still doesn't work i'll send it to Sony.

Are the disks blue bottomed?

That's a common problem, it's either that, or the laser is out sync.

You could..um.. blow on the disc. That helps sometimes cause the games get dusty,if that doesn't work try another game.If the other game doesn't work, your PS2 is broke. If it does,it was just that game.
Sorry if I'm no help -.-

I'm pretty sure he probably tried other discs.

Anyway, just clean it with a can of compressed air.
