Quote from AshI've heard it's pretty dated. The controls that were so good in RE4 are old and not very innovative anymore, and serve as more of a frustration than a challenge.
XPLAY gave it 3/5 stars, and my friend, who had the gmae preordered, agrees with that score.
I disagree. I think you need to play a game, not just base it off of xplay and your friend. The controls work fine, I am loving this game.
Quote from AshExcuse me? I've heard that they are almost identecal, in function if not in layout.
Make a diagram showing the controls, please.
EDIT: Here's the one for RE5:
http://www.danbirlew.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/re5-008.jpg
And compare to RE4:
D-Pad or Left Analog Stick Up or Down move forward or back
D-Pad or Left Analog Stick Left or Right rotate left or right
L1 or R1 Button + D-Pad or Left Analog Stick aim weapon
Right Analog Stick adjust camera view
Start Button open subscreen
Select Button options screen, skip movies
X Button action
R1 + X Button fire, attack
Square or Circle Button + D-Pad or Left Analog Stick Up run
Square or Circle Button + D-Pad or Left Analog Stick Down 180° turn
R1 + Square or Circle Button reload
Triangle Button open map
R2 Button communicate with ashley
R1 Button ready weapon
L1 Button ready knife, switch to key or treasure screen on the subscreen
L1 + X Button knife attack
No need to get all pissy. The controls are somewhat similar, but nowhere close to "identecal"
