I am in need of a little help in flash.

In big animations, (like the ones on frontpage) why do people use so many movie clips, in some animations, when you view the facts, it shows like 20+ movie clips.

Another question: Should i FBF my walks (Like animate him walking across the screen) or put the walk in a movie clip, and just repeat it.

And another question: Should i put the head on another layer, than the body?

One more, should i like, animate one guy attacking, doing all his motions and such, then after wards animate the second guy (being attacked) reacting? , or should i animate them both at the same time, like as i animate one guy, animate the other guy too.

I know there are not really any RIGHT answers to that last question, its a matter of preference, i know, but i would like to know what others say.

Thanks lots.

The walking thing depends on how lazy you are. i would put it into an MC, but thats just me.

i usually put the head on the same layer as the body, but i use object drawing for it so it doesn't get all messed up.

For the last one, i usually animate one guy at a time, until they get close to eachother, and then i animate both at once. but yeah, that one you kind of have to figure out on your own.

Pros have movie clips so they don't have to keep drawing them out... people can't copy their technique... and its easier to store..

I depends.. If you are running a short distance FBF, but if it is for more than 2 seconds that you should MC it..

I put the head in the same layer as the body

and.. I normally animate the hit.. and then the raction form the other stick... but this is what tolin advised..

Quote from Tolin
Usually, when I animate fights, I start with the sticks it should contain, so you know the location of them, and animate the attacing stick first, until you get one frame of attack, then animate the second stick.
Something like this:
Animation order: 1 2 3 4 5 A=Attack X=End
Stick 1 I-------------A I---------------I I---------------X
Stick 2 .................I---------------------A I------------X
I hope this is understandable.

Or do what they did in JCTLM, animating a serie of moves with one stick, and add the other sticks afterwards.
