Only ****ing faggots would notice and give a shit. But oh my god they are so generic.

If they can spin the same shit out each time and make a fortune out of it then fair play to them. Foundation of the capitalist system. Extending the product lifecycle for maximum efficiency and all that.

Haha wow.
They may be traces, but they are animated very, very well.

With animation like that, I don't blame them for wanting to use it more than once.

3 minutes of traced scenes in several 90 minute movies doesn't make all that much of a difference.
It's probably actually a common animating practice, and I bet you could find examples of it in all major 2-d animating studios (no, not you 2-d), especially TV shows.
Save some time on a scene that was planned to be similar to an already filmed scene and get to work on the original scenes? Sounds like a decent plan to me.
It's not like you're saying that the majority of their animation is traced from other animations.
It's even vaguely possible it was intentional and that they used it to pay homage to the old animations. Because the scenes weren't innocuous, they were all large memorable scenes. See what I'm saying?
Still, good find, I would never have suspected that

"According to this video, Disney only ever made one movie, and they've been tracing it ever since. "

Yeah, it pretty much seems that they just ran out of dance moves to put in.
Apr 8, 2009 1:34 AM #391077
Guys come on, you spend days on a good generic dance sequence and you can use it as a guide forever. Any good animator would. I already use old animations and trace for generic things like running and such.

A vast majority of the animators who made those movies are now dead, you know.
If few or no people noticed this until they died then they are very good at tracing and remaking.
