So I export my swf file to an AVI. It uploads but then in the movie the movieclips don't play. So what type of file should I export is as to the movieclips will play on youtube?

I think that youtube can handle .swf =) Try that

It doesn't. If I export it as AVI the movieclips won't play. Meaning the run for example is only one frame.

I had this same problem.
When you export an AVI file, the animation will play not like the exported swf file, but it will take it straight from the Flash Stage, and when you're playing the movie from the stage, the Movie Clips don't play there either.
So I suggest that what you CAN do is turn the Movie Clips into Graphics, which will unfortunately remove all the filter effects, but nobody likes a filter-whore, do they now?
Also, wtf.

I already knew that but I didn' do it because it's too long and I'm lazy. D: Thanks though.
I'd try 2-Ds method even though he's a total jerk.
