America, the free country, filled with obligations.
Fuck sacrifice, it doesn't make a damn sense.
What if you kill yourself to save ten people, who feel so guilty because they made you kill yourself, that they kill themselves?
I live with 2 rules, regarding live:
1) If you have a chance to live, live.
2) If you can save a live, do so when the first rule applies too.
Where the **** did the whole "free country" idea come from? It's a logical contradiction. There is no way whatsoever that a country can ever be entirely free because for any society to be able to function there must be rules. Countries have laws. You have an obligation to obey them. Socrates explained why from a moral point of view, but I'm just going to point out the "obey or die" aspect.
Example from the book "Irrationality":
If there is a fire in a theatre and everybody behaves in an orderly manner then the maximum number of people will survive. Unfortunately, those farthest from the exits will perish. If everyone panics then nearly everyone dies because of the confusion and crushing. If most people remain calm, but a few panic and trample others as they run for the exits, then those that panic will survive, and some of those that remain calm will survive, but more will die than if all had remained calm.
What would you do if you were in a theatre and someone shouted "fire"?
