I'm using GP5 to tab out my school music project.

Im having trouble getting the note span right. is there a program i can use to tap out the rhythm on a keyboard and import that in to guitar pro?

I use tux guitar, a free program that is just like guitar pro and even opens powertab and guitar pro files.

From what I read in your post, it sounds like you don't know notation very well. :)
You could always read some articles online about notation, maybe that would help?

Thanks, Im i have written pretty much a whole song, but in tab, without the timings. Im trying to write it out in guitar pro, but as it is pretty off-beat im having a problem getting the correct note duration and such.

Well, if you send me the guitar pro file, I might be able to change it to what you want.
