A rumor going around online at the moment claims that production of New Dawn, the second Twilight movie, has been halted due to Stephenie Meyer being accused of plagarism. Only problem? It's not true.

The story, as reported by Digital Spy and WENN amongst others, says that Heidi Stanton, Meyer's former college roommate, claims that Twilight and sequels are actually all her idea. There are even quotes from the legal documents:

"Quite frankly, I was shocked when I began watching the movie with my husband last week... I immediately told him that she got that idea from me! I wrote a fictional short story with the same ideas when we were in college together."

According to the reports, the lawsuit has forced Summit Entertainment to suspend production of the second movie in the series, pending resolution. Only problem is, it's not true. Summit have already issued a statement saying that production continues, and Meyer's agent has also announced that the lawsuit is completely fictitious. So what's going on? The website that originally broke the story has removed the entire post in question, and it's falling to fansites to try and set the record straight. So is this just a fan rumor gone mainstream? Summit's rep doesn't care:

"The Internet for all of its assets can still be an easy breeding ground for such hoaxes and detractors, and we hope that people will not be duped so easily, and use appropriate diligence before perpetuating everything or anyone that claims to have information about the Twilight franchise."

Personally, I think people just wanted to believe it.

I like how the article says "Oh yeah it's not true, the guys making the movie said so and it's from the internet and everything there is a lie"

The longer it's stalled, the better the chances are that something will...happen to some of the cast.

I actually saw Twilight

...and I asked myself, how the hell is that a good movie?

I don't mean I went in thinking "a lot of people turned all Vamp and drank clamato juice and shit after watching this, so it might be good" I went in thinking it would be bad

It was downright stupid, seriously. I rather enjoy vampire films, but this, seriously, what the hell?

"Oh no, I met a cute girl and my fangs got a boner! Must play baseball and show off skills, then have a stupid single fight scene and deal with more teenage drama in the middle of it"

I hate it when writers of articles that are meant to inform people take sides on the issue.

"Meanwhile, Mr. Gayface Child Touching Michael Jackson is being accused of sleeping with children. The descended from heaven golden boy children never told anyone about this and some even denied it at first, but I mean come on, Jacko probably Wacko'd in their face to keep their mouths glued shut."

Biasness doesn't exist in the news.

I watched Twilight and then watched Let The Right One In.

It was like eating shit, and then having your mouth rinsed with listerine, getting the listerine taste out of your mouth, and eating cheesecake.

I never watched the movie but I did read the book, and It's nothing that bad. Actually Stephenie Meyer has a good way to develop characters and story.
What they probably did on the movie, was what they do on every movie adaptation, they cut the movie so it fits the 2 hours length.

Also I hate when people which went to high school with authors, always prudently remember that the idea is theirs and the actual writer just stole it.
I mean really, if the idea was that good and it was hers, why didn't she write the novel when she had a chance too?

And while I think about it, J.K. Rowling was held back thirty years because she kept failing English tests and went to my school and I wrote seven stories about a magic school when I was there. I just never told anyone and all the official records mysteriously burned and I didn't bother to publish anything even though it looked like it might make me a millionaire.

I find it boring and soulless, not worthy of its status.

The **** does it mean for a movie to have a soul? It's a film, not a god damn living human being.

Typo.
When I said 'soul' I meant any good things at all, that happened during the entire movie.

Rowling is a soulless bitch who once she got some money and stopped being a homeless ol hag became one of the biggest cash cows ever imaginable.

Case and point, that whole Harry Potter Encyclopedia lawsuit. Some really big fan who devoted time to create this encyclopedia for everyone to refer to, who Rowling herself even looked at when writing the last few books, decided to sell it. Well, the whorelet didn't want anyone making profit off her series, so she sued the **** out of him.

Why should we help the homeless when all they want is a little money but later on they become so ripe with greed they just because money whores like the rest of us
