What good's a rough ruler? You might get friction burns whilst operating it, and it's no good for it's general purpose.

Well mine can handle friction pretty well, and it doesn't slip easily, sometimes it's painful for me but at least I get the work done.

Can't be good for the "paper" though, surely?

Yep. You could leave it in their pencil cases but it wouldn't be very interesting. I suspect you not only put your ruler on her paper, but draw a line as well. Unless your pencil is no good.

My pencil is only a lead HB.
