Eurovision songs are always terrible. They are simply designed to be memorable, but not good. I heard Norway won though, so I guess I should be proud, or something.

My country sucked, we got 19th/25, they should have sent Implant Pentru Refuz ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrocQN3-VcM ) there and we would have won. Also, there was absolutely no rock music there? ;_; Remember 2006 when Finland won? That year was awesome.

Lordi were just amazing when they were in the Eurovision 2006.
Also, Norway did win, and they completely owned the whole competition.
#1 Norway: >300
#2 Ireland: <130
Guess it was quite a change. There were only 3 cheerful songs, Norway playing one of them, and it involved a young person playing some pretty complex violin.
I guess they deserved to win.
Who thinks that pendulum should play at Eurovision 2010? That would just be amazing.

Norway was really good, very emotional playing on the violin and singing.
Russia was emotional "Mamo" but it got 8-9 place I forgot. Also Norway won because I heard most of the Russia voted for Norway.

Nearly all the countries voted for Norway.
Thing I liked about this year was that there were a lot more **** ups than normal :D

The only reason why people voted for Norway is because they were told that Norway were the fav to win before they even played.
Norway were shit.
But then again, so did everyone else.

Gray: You are biased but I think it's a matter of opinion as it's not Trance, modern music.
I liked Norway most, Croatia had an angelic opera feeling. Really nice
Russia was good too, obviously I'm Russian that's why. But I just love the intro. I'm gonna watch the intro again on youtube.

No I'm serious. I only have a vague idea of what it is and it's from reading the thread. (Lives in the U.S.A)
And James, please... for the love of god don't do that again. <.<

The Eurovision Song Contest is a contest between 25 European countries. Each country enters one song and it is performed at a Stadium in the country of the previous year's winner. The competition is shown in every country around Europe and the winner is decided by people phoning in and voting for who they want to win (you can't vote for your own country).
Then, points are given out by each country to the other countries based on how many votes the country got. Points are awarded like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12.
12 points are given to the country which got the most votes from that country. 10 points are given to the country which got the second-most votes from that country.
The contest has been going for over 50 years now, it's seen as a fun but very cheesey. The winner hosts the next year's contest.
In previous years, voting has just been political. Many former Soviet states voted for Russia (which is why they won last year) and countries voted for their allies, which is why the UK got a record nul points last year. This year, people actually voted for the songs they wanted to win (how it should be) which is why it was much better than previous years.
The UK has won the most competitions in total and came 5th this year.
Also, may I say, the Russian comedy they showed during the breaks was simply awful.
