hello!
i'm making a guy that's walking through a sort of dungeon, but i thought it would be really cool if everything was a lot darker, ( not black, dark) and where he points his flashlights it gets bright.
what's an easy way to do this? :O
btw, if you'r going to post a code, take your time to explane everything.
i don't know anything about codes:Cry:

thanks for your time :-D
Kieran.

You need to explain this a little better.

ok.
there's a stick figure. he walks through a cave.
there will be some spiders and other monsters, the whole area is darker, and he is holding a flashlight, the part where he points the flashlight, you see a light ''beam''
oh btw. i'm making this in the progam: macromedia flash 8.
and it's a animation, not a game.
hope you understand now :)

An animation, well basically make an mc, and it the properties bit, when it says blend. Pick lighten.

It may not work, but I'm just giving you a suggestion. ^_^

Once again, I stress that this is a random guess and may not work.

K, what you do is make a big black box, then delete the era when the light lets them see, ie, the light beam and add a gradient or whatever, aslong as you can see through it then sttach it to the light and whatever way its points, the 'mask' will point that was asell and only show the area that isn't hidden, ie, everything in the bit you deleted.
