Screamo/emo is a great genre, you dummy. Check out Aussitôt Mort; they're really amazing. Nu-metal was dumb to begin with, though, and pop music is just pop music. You can't really help that.

As an aside, I'm not familiar with the notion of homosexuals enjoying such artists as Nas, Nelly, DMX, AZ, and Young Jeezy. But I wouldn't really know, as I am attracted to women.
