They don't NEED to, and I think it'd be freaky to hear a hunter and not know what you're looking for exactly until it tackles someone.

But it would be unbalanced, Ampersand. Yes, they need to be distinct, because otherwise the game's difficulty would spiral out of control. The game would quickly become a dice game rather than a game of skill, and that's a death sentence for a games balance.

What Ash said.

The reason we don't have the hairy Francis, Bill and Louis is for that very reason and it's the same reason TF2 is the way it is. Distinctive silhouettes so the player can recognize instantly a threat and address it the proper way.

Everything in the trailer that is worth a shit is just something that could have been in DLC.

-Gimpy arm tank
-New daytime levels

**** fire ammo, versus is going to be a nightmare playing as an infected when you go to pounce someone and you burst into flames.

Like Melee weapons?

Adding a completely new mechanic, 5 campaigns, 4 new characters, and all that other shit would be a nightmare to be released via DLC.

They're going to have balance, you moron. It's not like there will be fire ammo EVERYWHERE.

**** Melee weapons, I just can't see that. I'm alright with that but it looks like they still have the secondary fire of all weapons that smacks zombies away. That is good enough.

And no. **** fire ammo. It'd be too easy to troll. A survivor team can just sit on a pile of the ammo and simply hold out there killing off the infected team. Only way I see them fixing that part is if the ammo dissapears after a certain number is grabbed.

The entire point is why so soon? Not even a damn year and already a new game is needed?

Four survivors of a zombie plague fight their way to the roof of an apartment building. They see a helicopter flying overhead, and the pilot tells them over his loudspeaker to make their way to Mercy hospital. They arrive there to find that it has been overrun, and get to the rooftop. There they find a radio and a man on the radio explains to them that they need to wait it out so he can pick them up. They wait on the roof and are attacked by more zombies, then the helicopter lands to pick them up.

Are you telling me that those things DON'T happen in the game?

THAT'S NOT A FUCKING STORYLINE. Those things happen in the game yeah, but thats a story. Thats like saying tetris has a storyline because you move blocks.

"GET TO DA CHOPPA" Is the extent of left 4 deads storytelling ability.

No, it's not. The story I just layed out was a series of events that will ALWAYS play out the same. The events aren't directly tied to the player's actions. Notice that I didn't say "Louis gets constricted by a Smoker, then Bill, in trying to set him free, accidentally shoots and kills Zoey". If I had, then your tetris argument would apply. However, the story I told you was not just arbitrary player actions, but a "narrative, either true or fictitious, in prose or verse, designed to interest, amuse, or instruct the hearer or reader; tale."

SO ITS A ****ING STORY.

A SIMPLE STORY IS STILL A ****ING STORY.

Okay, fine, it barely applies to the definition of a storyline, what is your point? It doesn't have a good story, why are you trying to prove this? Left 4 dead doesn't ever impress anyone story wise, no one cares about that, so why are you so hung up?

See the thing is that all of the TF2 updates have spoiled you guys, you are now used to getting double what was in the game to start with for free, with huge amounts of maps and shit.

Anyway this looks ****ing awesome, if it is looking this pretty so soon, it is going to be awesome when released.

Also you guys are being self centered pricks. You want Valve to put in huge amounts of work into "updates" then you don't want to pay for them.

Your are forgetting something

Valve made statements that they would have updates like the tune of Team Fortress 2, except maybe more frequently and larger updates.

This was said around the time of Left 4 Dead's release

Well, what the hell updates did we get before this new game was announced?

A survival mode which is very simplistic in design, and the 2 old campaigns tweaked into versus maps.

Wheres the new infected bosses they talked about for updates?

Wheres the new campaigns they talked about for updates?

I mean, we only just barely got the SDK officially released, just a few months before the new game is suppose to come out. That in and of itself requires modders and mappers to get the new game if they want their work to be widely available. Its just a hassle.

Plus, look at all the content thats been released since vanilla Team Fortress. More than the number of original maps, I think 2 new game modes, significant updates to (what is it, half now?) the classes, new weapons, and a bunch of tweaks.

What is Left 4 Dead 2?

More than the number of original maps, I think 2 new game modes, significant updates to the boss infected, new weapons, and a bunch of tweaks.

Give or take, there maybe a few different additions to both, but the updates to TF2 and L4D2 are really close together. Its just that one is released as a whole and could count as a whole new game, while the other is a sort of episodic update to an already existing and paid for game.

And I think the worst ****ing part about all of this, is that we hear about a Left 4 Dead 2 before an Episode 3.
