Cloned Meat.

The FDA approved of cloned meat not too long ago.

My English teacher says that he just shudders at the thought of eating something that is cloned. Reasons you ask?

He believes that one cow is cloned into many cows. What if the cow had a disease, or was in some other way, unsuitable for eatingism. All of the clones would turn out genetically the same, thus having these imperfections. Cloning can be unhealthy as the cows can die young from being cloned alone.

^^^^Not my opinion^^^^

The discussing topic is: Is cloned meat suitable to eat? Is there some absolute evidence out there that proves or destroys the reason my English teacher gave above? Is meat that is cloned possibly unhealthy in any way, even if the FDA approved it?

Keep in mind that no administration such as the FDA, no matter how respectable, is perfect. Things can be overlooked in anything. Please do not refer to the FDA's standings as THE FINAL JUDGEMENT!! It is just an outside, very credible opinion.

Discuss?

(I don't debate much. Last time I tried, I got very offtrack. If I get into this debate, which this time, is doubtful, tell me if I get offtrack again. :P I tend to do that. :D)

who cares about what's "ethical" to eat? that doesn't even make any sense.

and I'm sure whoever's cloning cows, they're going to make sure the cow doesn't have any kind of disease.

Yeah, i think he meant to say whether or not it's "suitable" to eat or if it's "logical" to sell cloned meat, or something.

Oh no, I only eat meat of the highest standards.

I also love to fold my arms and keep my chin pointed upwards everywhere I go, looking at the mere groveling mortals below me as they divulge in their filthy foods. I try and stay away from normal people as much as possible, and when I must make eye contact I give them disapproving stares, for I am far above them.

I'd like an answer, if I could get one.

I think sometimes due to genetic problems, but mostly, as I remember from biology, cloning is a special way of extremely controlled-by-human breeding.

Because adults always have to get rid of the fun part in everything.

XD yep. I am not entirely sure if I am right on that definition however. I am feeling a bit sluggish today, so I have no effort to look it up. I am just telling you what I vaguely remember form biology, so don't trust my words...

I'll look it up later. :(

Think of it this way: A clone is just a cow, but it is the same cow as another cow. No difference in freshness unless there is something personally wrong with the cow.

Now you're just being silly, if you had to choose between two cows to eat, and one of them is a clone, but they wouldn't tell you which one was the clone, and you chose the cloned cow, you would notice know difference between the cow it was cloned from because they are the same.
