Hello Jesse!

I have read your request for animations on Stickpage, and I am very eager and excited to help you out.
2 Year expierence with Flash Professional is what I have, and I can also make fullbody animations, and even make it interactive.
(Interactive means that you can click on things to change the animation, and fullbody means that the animation isn't with sticks, but with actual body's and arms etc.)
Please respond, I'd love to hear back from you.
If you want to see what I can do, check out http://xpaintball.deviantart.com/gallery/ for my portfolio.
As you can see I am into stickman animations, so those are no problem, but if you really need fullbody I won't mind doing that.

Greetings and love,

Robin Moonen

boringjesse, you may want to contact someone like Stone from FA. He is an animator that has been trying to commercialize his skills, and something like this would be just what he would be interested in. Stone is very well respected, is very high quality in his animations, and even knows some things about commercialization, so he would be suited for making animations to help enhance a project like yours. He is the owner of Fluidanims, so you should be able to check out how good he is pretty easily.

I dont meant to steal an opportunity from you scarecrow, I just know that Stone is very dependable.

Either him or Terkoiz. Yeah FA actually has more advanced animators. But not very active.

hi,
this project sounds very good to me. i think i understand it now, we just have do some funny and/or creative animations for kids. now i have two questions:
1. does it have to be made in flash or it just have to be in a swf fromat?
2. how much time do we have for that?

@ Upps: Thanks for the tip

@ honk:

1. any creation source is totally fine with me as long the format I get it in is a .swf of the correct dimensions that will work at 30 frames per second.

2. right now I'm looking to pick 2 or 3 animators to do this stuff and I'm waiting to see the the sample animation they make (view earlier in this thread to see the parameters of that) so that I figure out who will be a good match for what I'm doing. Short answer: I would do that prototype animation soon. The whole project will probably take place over the course of the next couple of months and probably each animator will do 15-30 animations (depending on how many they want to do).

For what it's worth, undagada from this forum has started working on the project and I was really pleased with the animation he did for me, it might give you an idea of what I'm looking for.

It's a draft and he's in the process of making some minor edits now (partially because I didn't tell him the animation would be loaded into another swf - you'll see the sun and know what I'm talking about). But you can see it here

Dear Jesse, please tell me what you think of this animation of mine:

http://filebox.me/view/fw9umjamr

Please watch the whole animation twice, because the first time it might look a bit worse because it did not load correctly yet.

And here is an updated version with some zoom effects: http://filebox.me/view/7a3vehjyg

Hehe, yea, and he animates fast so he won't waste too much time for this "paid" project. PRO TIP: Stone will never do it. ^_^ O, and dude, 25$ is like... nothing. I'd rather sell post cards.

Maybe $25 is not much but think about it in this way.
Not only do you get paid to make an animation, it is also going to be at a place where animators don't visit, so people who are probably not animators will see this and it could help you get your name out there.

Also think a about it a little bit, he is offering $25 per animation.
He wants 20-30 animations.

That's $500 - $750 coming out of HIS pocket.
Now think, is $25 still "nothing"?

Not trying to be a jerk just pointing this out to you, because what you said is clearly untrue.

@boringjesse If it's not to much to ask could you email me, I will send you the email address via PM because it is a private email and I don't want it posted anywhere on this site.

I agree, hes paying $25 an animation to an age group between 13-17, using a mediocre animation program. Thats not bad, actually.

There are people younger than that on this site, worthy animators under 13, highly doubted.
Still thanks for agreeing with me.

I'm glad the $25 is at least some incentive. It's working out great on my end and I think I've got the 3 animators that I'll use for the program.

I wanted to say thanks to everyone for their comments. It can be intimidating coming to a forum for something you know basically nothing about, but everyone was very helpful (even people who didn't want to animate for the program, @N_T thanks for the link posting)

Just in case people are interested I'll be sure to post the link to the site when the animations are ready so that you can take a look at how this animation project turned out in case you're interested. I'm already certain that it will turn one of the weakest parts of the program (when there is nothing interactive, just text and audio) and turn it into one of the strongest.

@Lixu: Nice work! I like the second swf with those zooming effects. I'll contact you over e-mail so we can work out the next steps.

Oh, and as a general thought for the animators, I'm figuring that each animator will take 1 or 2 modules and at the end of the intro video for each module you can put in a little animation that basically says "this module animated by _____" in whatever way you'd like. I can also put your contact info up on the site if you'd like to be contacted for project by random people who like the site (which isn't completely unlikely since if the program works other psychologists will want to replicate what we did right).

In any case, if anybody else making a program asks me about getting animations like mine I'll certainly send them toward SPP.

Again, to everyone, thanks!

Good luck on the website, looks like you got three pretty decent animators, too bad stone couldn't have contributed though, would have been nice to see his work for something like this.

Once again, good luck.

I'm really happy for you (and honestly for me too :D) to work with you. I wouldn't mind animating your whole site, if you wish :]
