Me and Myself we're just building a giant earth platform at the highest point blocking out the sun but the server went down. The place was starting to look like a desert, lol.

Yeah, shit sucked. But the server makes a backup of the map every minute.

We gonna switch servers or wait for Face Punch to get back up?

I got an old HP I could use for a server, I mean I'll have to upgrade it but whatever.
It's current specs are
-Intel Pentium 4 (I forgot the clock speed but it's above 2.0GHz)
-512mb RAM
-80gb HD (It only has about 20gigs on it but I'll defragment it and delete all the useless crap)
What do you think I should upgrade?
I know I'll want
-New motherboard (It has a pretty old/crappy one)
-1gb of ram (That should be plenty)
-and maybe more HD space? (60-70gbs should be enough right?)

i think it would be good enough as is

Well I do need to replace the motherboard no matter what, I'm having issues uploading/downloading on that computer and a simple mobo change should fix that.
EDIT:And for whatever reason my internet browsers crash on that computer, I'll be connected to the internet, but it won't let me open a browser.

Sounds like spyware/virus, not anything with hardware. Slight possibility of connection issues with your ethernet card, though. A driver update may help.

Yeah I tried updating it, multiple virus scans, couple of HD wipes, etc. I think the cards fried.
I'm just gonna get a new cheapo 80-90$ mobo.

If that's your easiest route, go for it. I'd borrow someone else's ethernet card temporarily to test it (the current motherboard) out first, but that's just me.

Maybe it's the browsers. I'd try to fix them but I only get about 3 minutes of browser time then they DC and I gotta restart the computer (Not enough time to re download firefox).
I'll figure something out, worst case I have to buy a new mobo. If I can get the computer to work I'll have the server up by Tuesday maybe :O.

How exactly do I make a server? I've never made one on any game ever, but I'd like to for this until Vincent gets one up.
