Are gay people really born gay or is that just an excuse?

I can understand growing up around girls, or growing up becoming gay, but I don't know about being BORN gay, lulz.

Weeeeeeell, if you're born and the first and only sex you find yourself attracted to is your sex, then it's possible you could've been born that way. As in, because of how your specific birth turned out, your horomones made you attracted to that sex.

Did you actually mean that? The very definition of genes is centred around their inheritability.

Yes, homosexuality is present from birth. The higher concordance rate for twins proves that either genetics or birth conditions play a major role. You cannot choose or learn to be gay, any more than you can choose or learn to be male.

You can't choose to be male, but you CAN choose to be female. It's a one-way street.


Anyway, it's a genetic condition, resulting in a broken "attraction center" in your brain.


Everyone starts development off as a female. It's not until later in development that a hormone is introduced that causes the ovaries to drop and change into testicles, the clitoris to change into the head of a penis, etc. (Of course, these organs aren't fully formed when they change into male organs, but they would develop into the female forms were it not for the hormones.)

This hormone also causes the baby to be attracted to the curves of a female, namely the breasts and hips, and the smells of a female. Sometimes this part of the brain is never given what it needs to be attracted to female forms, and instead becomes attracted to male forms.


Much of this is speculation based on what I've learned before, so don't take my word for it. There's probably someone else here who knows more about it than me, and of course not all the data is in, so this could be incorrect.

If being gay was a choice, then gay people wouldn't need to bear with all the oppression because they could just switch back anytime they wanted. Think of it this way: you're straight, right?
