Trailer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UY7Tge7ftxM&feature=related

It's produced by Tim Burton and the director of Wanted, if that means anything. I'd like to see this when it comes out. Anyone else have any thoughts about it?

Can't ****ing wait. Tim Burton + The short film + The Knife's "The captain" in the opening = greatness.

BTW, the song the trailer starts with is here:

It's The Captain by The Knife. So perfect.

I don't know why, but the fact that they are trying to dramatize a war between little dolls doesnt appeal to me

I'm not excited about the implementation of voices. The original short was badass so I REALLY want to watch this.

And if they were people instead it would be fine?

"a group of people fight a horrible threat in a post-apocalyptic landscape. Produced by Tim Burton."

Sounds good!

"A group of ragdolls right a horrible threat in a post-apocalyptic landscape. Produced by Tim Burton"

Doesn't sound interesting.

Are you saying that human life SHOULD have the same weight as a doll? I'm not trying to be a hyper-realist here, but come on.

The entire point of using dolls is that they normally aren't important and they are normally lifeless.

I don't see why that should diminish one's enjoyment of a story. Every single element of the film would be exactly the same if they were people, except for the fact that they are dolls.

Elijah Wood is one of the lead voice actors and the movie is having fun with pun with a release date of 9.9.09. With some Burton-esque influences, this full-length version should deliver :)

just give something human characteristics and that is usually all you need to care about their story and if they live or die (sure not right off the bat of the movie)

its done with animals, robots, etc all the ****in time.

They move, they talk, they react to stuff.
But they are dolls..

They could be aliens for all I care.
It's apocalyptic, it's Tim Burton, it's going to be a ****ing great movie.
