As odd as it might seem coming from me, I really think they need to be stopped. At least in main.

It wasn't much of a big deal when me, audix, schall and scarecrow were the only four people who really posted any of our work, and that was once every few weeks. That hardly distracted from the usual business that goes on in Main, so the mods for the most part didn't care that they were in the wrong section.

We seem to have gotten quite a few new musicians who are posting their work, now, and they're doing it a lot. One member's made 5 threads for their music in 8 days, which is overdoing it.

I suggest we take it to the Music section, until someone decides it'd be worth creating a separate section for original music and production discussions. I was going to make this an announcement but I want to hear some ideas or feedback first, if any of you have any.

I agree. Main is meant for whatever doesn't fit any other section, and music, as odd it may sound, should be put in the music section.

However when an album is released, as that is a bigger production with more effort, it deserves more spotlight in a more visited section.

The main argument was that Music is meant for discussing other people's music rather than showing off your own, and that the Music section gets very little traffic compared to Main.

I agree that albums can be posted in Main if sufficient work is put into them, though

Yea, but if creating your own music is becoming more popular, and an announcement is made that the music section is were it should be posted, then more traffic will be directed to that section. Just change the meaning for the music section to include both, and then one's production will not only get views from other music makers, but also people who just discuss bands and whatnot.

i hate it because the titles are misleading, since they're in main.

also another reason to have a OTHER section in Show Off.

Well look at the picture thread, if you had a section called "Pictures" it'd get less traffic than one simple thread.

An Official thread for it wouldn't be a bad idea.

I agree with the idea of an officiall thread. And also with the idea of an "other" section for Showoff.
