I'm getting a new computer right now, and it actually has the capability to play oblivion, so I'm going to get rstarted modding it right way. My first mod will be replacing items with LEGO equivelents, such as replacing this:


with this:



Given the way that Oblivion's engine handles character models, I can't make minifigure-style character models, though I will be able to allow characters to properly interact with the Lego items.


Any other suggestions?

I assume you'll change the shields eventually, but at the very least make sure they have the same emblems on them that the legos do

Because of the fact that there is such a wide variety of armor and weapon types, but so few lego types, I'm going to be making different colored lego items to fit the different types, such as a see-through lego sword with green plastic for glass weapon types, etc.

I would totally download those mods. I mean i already have like a billion new items anyway, its not like im gonna miss the original pieces of shit they give you (that is IF you actually replace the meshes rather than make entirely new tiems)

When I saw this thread I thought it was going to be a post about Lego Oblivion, like Lego Star Wars and all the others and I was like: "FUUUUUUU"

Sounds like a great idea, if I had Oblivion I would download them.

I am replacing the original meshes, not just making new items, and not just weapons and armor, I'm actually replacing cups, bowls, and other items.


@Mantha, I already addressed making Lego people, I can't do that considering the way the game handles people. Perhaps when i hae more experience with the modding tools I'll get to work on a character replacer as well, and at that time I'll replace EVERYTHING in the game, including the ground textures.

hmmm... I'd still get the mod when your done, i would just only have it on for a new character rather than my pre-existing ones.

It would be cool to see the lego gold coins replace the normal ones, although I guess instead of the numbers on one side it would make more sense to have just the number 1 on the back side

Wait, do you actually see the coins anywhere in oblivion? Or are you talking about the icon for them in your window?

I play Oblivion aswell.

Just with the lowest graphical setting possible (and I still get lags on grassy areas).

But it's still fun.

you can find coins lying about, but its quite rare

I may go and buy Oblivion for my PC for this.
