I don't understand the Modern Warfare hype. I mean, the first one was good, but nothing spectacular.

I totally enjoyed the first single player although it was short as ****. This one probably has the engine touched up, more proper shadows and more "michael bay" explosion! lol.
This actually looks really good to play ONLINE. I am second Lieutenant on COD 4. O_o
The problem with the last multiplayer was that the maps were small and I got killed too easily, either from nowhere or by 10 ****ing grenades being thrown all over the field or just from a sniper camping through a hole. There were so many god damn explosions I couldn't see shit. But it was fun, for some time.

I hope they use a better physics engine on this one.
The one they used on CoD:WaW was sick. They should develop from that one.
Anyway, I'm hyped as shit.

Quote from General DouchingtonThe single-player was very short-lived, and the multi-player was horribly unbalanced. Pretty much it.
I'm not saying it was a terrible game, just that they screwed up what could of been much better.
Sorry to go back on this, but anyway.
Play the SP on veteran. This way it won't feel as short, you'll probably spend a day on 1 level in some cases.
The MP, well, what can I say. Every gun is over-powered. However, every gun has a way around it. The most powerful guns have insane recoil, the ones that don't have a bad fire rate. Because every gun is overpowered, it takes some amount of skill to get kills. (Apart from the M16)
Anybody who has a problem with the online probably has that problem because they're bad at it.
Give it time, get used to it. It's addictive.
I hope to god the knifing is as fun as it is on 4. I hope to be able to play with most of you guys, the people I have added, anyway.

I never understood that thing of playing on veteran. If you are just dying it's not fun. It's not fun either to have to spend almost 2 hours thinking that if you go trough that place you'll die.
That sucks. Mostly because that in linear games, such as CoD, you'll only have one way to go, most of the cases, thus dying for the lack of options.

There's many ways around a level. You realise that on Veteran. I always found it pointless, but I was bored and decided to try going through it on Veteran. I then got addicted to it, and played through the whole thing.
It's not as hard as it's made out to be, compared to CoD2 it's a walk in the park.
God I hate CoD2 on veteran.

Infinity Ward has stated that MW2 will be less linear.

call of duty 4 really isnt that linear, theres lots of different ways to go down the same path shooting people, its just working towards the same thing every time

CoD4 is very linear. :/

I wouldn't say that. Its level design does give some flexibility. For example:Quote from MyselfCoD4 is very linear. :/
-the mission where you escort the tank out of the bog. You can go through the buildings on the right, the buildings on the left or go across the street. You can fight on the sidewalks with the cover provided if you want. There's apartments to snipe from and buildings to clear if you prefer CQC.
-the mission where you call down the airstrikes from the chopper. You can attack the houses from any entrance or direction. The level is completely open for you to maneuver around (unless you're playing on vet).
That's just off the top of my head.
