View Profile And they all look good, if not amazing.
2012:
Ancient cultures predicted that on December 20th, 2012, the world would come to and end. So Roland Emmerich tossed a ****ing AIRCRAFT CARRIER AT THE GOD-DAMMED WHITE HOUSE. You've seen this movie before if you've seen Independence Day, Godzilla, or The Day After Tomorrow. Now there's just a bigger budget.

Carriers:
A psuedo-zombie movie about a group of four people trying to escape a deadly airborne virus. They are forced to avoid contact with all other people, and grow steadily less trusting of each other.

The Book of Eli:
Denzel Washington is a man trusted to carry a book that holds the secret to the survival of humanity across America. But everyone else wants it too. Quite possibly Denzel Washington's most bad-ass role ever.

The Road:
Viggo Mortensen is trying to take his son safely across a cataclysm-torn landscape

EDIT: I completely forgot to add Zombieland somehow!
Zombieland:
Three kids and a gun-toting bad-ass killing zombies. Also funny as hell, judging by the trailers.

View Profile I personally know the guy who was involved in the SFX in 2012, he said almost every of the acted scenes were filmed in front of a greenscreen and shit. Looks like a good movie.

View Profile Star Wars Episode 3 was the same way. ****ing green-screens everywhere.

View Profile He told me they were ****ed when, in the last scene, there were GREEN flags involved in the movie that had an important symbolic aspect to them so they had to be in, but the greenscreen would have made them invisible. He didn't tell me how they worked around that, though, told me I should go see the movie.

View Profile That's a trick that is actually a lot easier than it sound like to work around. All you have to do is draw around them to create a boundary where the computer won't put the green screen overlay image on that area of the frame. They used to not be able to do that, back when green/blue screening was done with less capable software. An example of a movie like that is The Borrowers, where there's almost never any blue in the film.

View Profile Great job on collecting these into one thread. The only one I may not see is the zombie one. Great stuff though.

View Profile Oh awesome, the road's being made into a movie. I started the book a couple months ago but never had time to read all of it, I hope it turns out well.

View Profile Book of Eli looks like Fallout 3, which incidentally, is one of the games that I think COULD be turned into a decent movie.

View Profile I think mankind getting wiped out is becoming some sort of trend in the media.
Oh hey, mass destruction, no more us, woo hoo!
Why does everyone care so much about the Mayans?

View Profile They care about the Mayans because they say the world is going to end. It makes sense, really.
Also, I love disaster movies so whatever.
