Are people seriously this stupid? About 2 people knew what one was...
Also, anyone who says anything about this being American is a retard. I'm sure other countries are like this too... /NOT sarcasm.

You seem pretty hostile towards Americans. Did you get beat up by an American kid or something?
This doesn't really surprise me, though. Also the only person that has a non-American accent gets the question wrong, btw. (at 1:13)

Automaton, ask your parents what a browser is.

You do realise I was joking? I only added the /sarcasm as an afterthought. Also, my Nan was Canadian and my Grandad and dad's girlfriend are American. I don't mind Americans :/
[edit]
And Shanto, I know. My mom didn't know how to close a window a month or so a go when she asked me to help her with something.

All clips like these are bullshit anyways. They edit out the loads of correct responses to make it more interesting. And what the hell is your problem with Americans?

OK people, sorry for the misunderstanding. I'll go and edit out the "/sarcasm" bit if it makes you happy. The other comment in the other thread was directed at America and the American government, not its people. I don't hate Americans, k?
[edit]
And also, it's not edited to that much an extent because it says only 8% of all the people interviewed got it right.

I asked my mom:
"Its a thing where you browse stuff."
"Its a thing where you browse stuff."
Aug 7, 2009 7:03 PM #472592
*asked his english mum what a browser was, she said internet explorer
*asked his english dad what a browser was, he said "internet explorer or that one you use, er, firefox."
*proceeded to ask both "what is the difference with a browser and a search engine.
THEY WERE BOTH RIGHT.
100% of englishmen interviewed got everything right.
DOESN'T MEAN IT'S ****ING STRAIGHT SCIENTIFIC FACT.
But they are pretty stupid.

But I'm flattered you think about me so much.

This made me very angry, and I'm pretty sure it ruined my day.

Most of the general public know barely anything at all about computers.
Operating System
Web Browser
Hard drive
RAM
Software/hardware
Server
USB
Seriously, go out and wait on the street with a video camera and a microphone. Ask 100 people about these components. Which do they use, what are they, etc. See what happens.
Or work for someone like Geek Squad or Staples or Microsoft in their support departments. People know where the power button is and how to type. They don't know most terminology or basic things.
