Kay,

Kay...
I downloaded a movie and I want to watch it on windows media player. The movie worked on my sister's computer with windows media. But the problem is with mine, when I play the video, I can hear the sound and everything, but all that I see are colorful circles dancing around, as if I was listening to music.
Help,

You don't have the proper codecs, your sister does.
Here's a hint: Screw Windows Media Player, get Foobar2000 and VLC Media Player. Use Foobar for music, because it can play pretty much any music file right out of the figurative box, and VLC can do the same for videos. Plus, they both don't slow down your computer.
VLC:

Foobar:

(Download latest stable version)

Contrary to what other people think, one does not have to shell out money just to access codecs. All it takes is some good researching skills and you'll find applications like the ones mentioned above.
