i know age old question like chicken or egg but read this its a list of pros and cons for easytoon and pivot
EASYTOON pros
- limited only by your imagination and drawing ability
-particles beams explosions etc are easyer
-making a character is fast and simple
-full body capabilitys
EASYTOON cons
-if you cant draw your pretty much screwed
-like naturals and coordinaters(gundam seed refrence) mouse is good but tablet has more potential to be better you can be good with mouse but you cant be best without tablet
-tablets arnt that cheap
-monochrome
-because of monochrome unless you add color (pm me and ill pm u the link) stick animators only get 2 chars black head stick empty head stick unless a weapon is added or a power
- hard to find tutorials even harder to find good ones
PIVOT pros
-easy to be good a week or 2 with it i was already med or high begginer even though i didnt use it all day long
-good for animating simple punch kick backflip hand to hand etc
-color
-good tutorials
PIVOT cons
-only good for stick animating
-if it cant be made with lines and circles alone your gonna have a hard time
-even simple things like swords are hard to make
-hard to make effects like particles or blood and even if you make it its still not that good
-if you use lots of stuff you gotta spend 30 minutes importing sticks to use
this concludes the list i think easytoon is better because no limits
edit: forgot pivot is a 2d endorphin so
3d animating pivot-->endorphin(free)-->endorphin($1.6k full version)
2d animating easytoon-->flash note: flash is only worth it if your professional not hobbyist
