What does beef jerky actually taste like then? Looking at a picture of it it doesn't look horrendously bad but what's the taste comparative to?

i'm eating some jack's links right now, tastes like heaven

though if you get some jerky, and you don't like it, you might have gotten a bad brand, theres some crappy jerky out there.
