The "Animation Attack" in the "Show Off" section should be renamed "Community Contests" due to the fact that some contests are not always animation (i.e. artowrk or originals) and it goes better with the flow (i.e. Communtiy Projects, Community Animations, Community ext.).
I was just thinking. Any other thoughts about this, bad good?

Animation Attack has been here for so long that I wouldn't want to have it changed. Not everything has to have "community". :/

yea well the flash, pivot, and eztoon were in there own seperate sections for along time too. Things change man, usually for the better.

Yeah well, EVERYTHING doesn't have to change.
Aug 28, 2009 5:30 PM #479949
well it focuses on animation when there more than that when it comes to the contests.

Community Contests does sound good, since Animation Attack is slightly too specific.
.. but as mentioned, Animation Attack has been known as that since forevrt, and chqging it noz would take some getting used to.
EDIT: Damn this French keyboard.

I got used to this site pretty quickly when I first joined, qnd even now with the sudden new layout I can find ,y way around. Probably because this is the first forum I ever visited.
I never really used the Animation Attack forum, though, so really I'm not too fussed.

Other competitions do happen, they just end up in their own relevant sections. The debating competition (epic fail on my part) was in the debate section, the zombie short story contest was in literature (another incomplete one) and the fill-up-dudeman's-inbox went in main where people would see it. That's always meant that the people who are really only interested in a certain section will always see the relevant competitions.
Having said that, it may encourage more non-animation relevant competitions to actually happen if the section encompassed all of them and it wouldn't be too much effort to check in there for something you liked.
I think things are ok as they are, but I'm not hugely opposed to a change either.

that seems a little messy though.

Granted but I can't see a single section for them being much tidier. A debating competition is as different from an animating competition as it is from a standard open debate. The one thing that might work is to have a section called "competitions" and then subsections for competitive animation, art, debating, literature, inbox filling, etc. Thing is, I don't think those sections will see much traffic.

Well it beats competitions being too specific.

nice one raffi
Zed you make a good point and so what if they dont recieve alot of traffic. Its not like spp the super highway of the internet.
also, on note of the sub sectioning, in order to maintain consistency we would have to do that to Community Projects as well.
