I have Flash cs3 pro(trial) and i have to ask if this is the best or tell me wut you use? My uncle has flash 4.0 and I also have to ask if animations can be made with it?

Flash 4. probably yeah animations can be made with it. Brush sucks in Cs3. but if you don't use brush, then I guess stick to it. else flash 8 is the best.

Most users use Flash 8 here.

Well, if you get Flash 8, you'll be using actionscript 2.0, not 3.0.

However, in the graphic design industry today, flash CS3 and actionscript 3.0 are being used, and, while a lot more complicated the AS2, ActionScript 3.0 is far more powerful once you get it down.

As such, if you're aiming to do a lot of work with script, I recommend you get Flash CS3, but if you just want to animate, Flash 8 is probably a better choice.
