okay, i admit, the santa analogy is a bad one. screw it. but if someone came alonng and said "i dont think that religion is a bad thing" you would take them literally.
by all meanss, use sarcasm in a forum, but please, never ina debate. i admit, i took your aparent sarcasm as your actuall opinion, but its easy to mistake and anyone could do it. sarcasm never works when you write it down. if you ever used sarcasm in a letter of complaint it wouldn't work.
