I live in the only state with required PE courses in high school, it's not nearly as influential as you would think.

Oh boy, the UK implementing another form of absurd control, assuming that their citizens dont know what is best for themselves. Yawn.

First off, I'm sorry but I don't have any sources. I'm basing this off what I heard on the news before.

The UK government is thinking about implementing a new regime. This isn't a far-into process, meaning it will be a while before it happens if it ever does. However, this "regime" is that public weighing of children under the age of 16/17 (in primary and high schools) shall take place, and anyone who is even so much as a couple of pounds overweight shall be forced to take place at a "fat camp". I don't think it will be the hardcore "WORK THOSE LEGS FATTIES" type of place, but stilll... I think this is too much.

I think the government should stop treating people like 5 year olds, accept we know what's best for us and it's up for us to decide what to do with our lives, and generally keep their noses out of our personal business. Every now and then I get overweight, and usually burn it off after a couple of weeks. I'm telling you, if this happens to me I will absolutely refuse to go.

What do you guys think of this?

Well, its up to us to carry on humanity right? Well i would rather be born with less chance of heart disease or diabetes so yea WOO FOR THE GOVERMENT

this would actually be a good idea

because people would never go above about 26 on their bmi.

Although bmi doesn't take muscle mass into account. And seeing as muscle has more mass than fat...

And Myself is right, that genetics crap is just an excuse. People are fat because they eat too much and dont exersise, its that simple.

Haha what. That is some of the cases while some people just naturally have wider hips or something like that. Some people also have a faster metabolism and can eat whatever they want and don't exercise and they're skinny.
Other people gain weight easily. It's not that simple.

there is, occasionally, a legitimate excuse.

but 30% of America is not just big boned or have glandular problems. 30% is just too ****ing lazy to fix themselves.

Probably, I don't know statistics. I just disagreed with the Chronos' statement that ALL people who have a problem with being overweight are too lazy to do any excercise and eat junk food all the time.
